STEP ONE: When you first click on the link to accept the invitation to join this blog, this is what you'll see. Click the link "Create an Account". Otherwise, if you already have a blogspot account, enter your user name and password, and then click "Sign In". |
STEP TWO: Once you have created a blogspot account, you'll see the "Dashboard". Under "Blog Name", click on the link for the name of our blog (to view the postings, or to post to it). Or, click on "Edit Profile" to change your "display name" (how you will be identified when you post to the blog). If you want, you can also create another blog by clicking on "Create Blog". Or, check out "Blogger Help" on the right-hand side for answers to typical questions. |
STEP THREE: After clicking on the link to our blog, you will see a list of what's already been posted. You will see the title of the post, who posted it, and you'll be able to view the posting. More importantly, this is where you can create your own postings. Click the button for "Create New Post" or the tab that says "Create".
|
STEP FOUR: If you expand the post title (shown in Step 3), this is an example of what you might see.
|
STEP FIVE: When you select "Create a Post" in Step 3, this is what you'll see. Type a title for your post, and then type whatever you wish to post in the area inside the pink boundaries. Then, select "Preview" to see what it will look like when posted. If you know HTML and want to edit your comments, select "Edit Html". If you want to add an image, click on the picture icon, and select an image to be uploaded from your computer. If you're not sure about your posting, save it as a "Draft". Otherwise, when you're ready, select "Publish Post". |
STEP SIX: This is what Dianne's first post looked like when she chose "Preview" from the "Create" screen. |
STEP SEVEN: After posting to the blog, this screen will appear. It means you've done it! Now, select "View Blog (in a new window)" to see how it looks. If you don't like what you see, you can go back to the "Dashboard" to edit the posting. |
STEP EIGHT: Here's what Dianne's actual post looked like. All in all, the process of creating a blogspot account and posting to the blog took 20 minutes. If you haven't tried it yet, this information may be helpful. Good Luck, and Happy Posting! |
