One more week until Spring Break!
Final Project Reminder
The quarter ends next Wednesday March 28, and your final project should be submitted by 10:00 PM in ETUDES. Be sure to provide me the url, and/or have a link on your home page to both your research project and your final project... if I cannot find them, then I cannot grade them!
As your projects are submitted, I will build a table of links to your research projects and your final projects which will be available on the schedule page so that you can view the work of your fellow students (next week).
Grading
Some of you may have work waiting to be graded. I'll grade all the remaining make-up work at once, so do not panic if you haven't received a grade yet. All work, including the projects should be graded by Saturday March 31 and your grades should be displayed accurately inside ETUDES if you click on the "My Scores" link under the "Assignments" menu item.
Any late assignments must be submitted by Wednesday March 28, there are no exceptions. I must finish and submit my official grades shortly after the quarter ends. I always get e-mail messages a week or two after the quarter ends, and after my grades are submitted... there is nothing I can do at that point! The due date for any, and all work, is Wednesday March 28 by 10 PM!
If you have issues, please contact me directly with an e-mail so we can work through any problems. After the quarter ends, it is then too late... sorry about that!
What Class(es) to take Next?
This is usually the time when students start wondering, "What should I take next?" Here is a page of questions and suggestions as to what you might consider taking as your next class.
-----
ENROLL EARLY!!! - I say this because managers make very early decisions based upon early enrollment numbers. If you are interested in a class, I would suggest that you enroll in that class as soon as possible. The only way that you can help ensure that a class which you are interested in, will actually be offered, is to enroll in that class! If you hesitate, that class might be cancelled only because students waited until the last moment to register. Unfortunately, this situation occurs frequently!
The Lecture Materials for this Week
This week, I'm introducing a few selected topics that deal with usability, accessibility, and real-world deployments of web designs. We'll explore Image Replacement techniques for accessibility, Using Negative Margins for flexible Layouts, Drop-down Menus, and Browser Workarounds. You won't need this information in order to create standards-compliant designs, but understanding these concepts will help you build more accessible and maintainable designs.
We won't be able to delve into these topics in great detail, but I am providing several resources with which you can investigate these topics in more depth on your own.
