Week 12 On-line Guide

Wrapping up - we are DONE!

The quarter is now over. This document answers some common questions that I typically receive at the end of any quarter.

Final Projects and Research Assignments

I've created a document which has links to your final projects. From what I have seen at this point, your projects look wonderful! It is amazing to see the same content styled in so many different and artistic ways... a very nice job here to all!

Your Research Projects also look amazingly good! I know that I've learned a lot from a number of them and plan to archive them all so I have access to them in the future!

Grading

Some of you may have work waiting to be graded. I'll grade all the remaining make-up work at once, so do not panic if you haven't received a grade yet. All work, including the projects should be graded by Monday April 2 and your grades should be displayed accurately inside ETUDES if you click on the "My Scores" link under the "Assignments" menu item.

Any late assignments should have been submitted by Wednesday March 28, there are no exceptions. I must finish and submit my official grades shortly after the quarter ends. I always get e-mail messages a week or two after the quarter ends, and after my grades are submitted... there is nothing I can do at that point! The due date for any, and all work, was Wednesday March 28 by 10 PM!

If you have issues, please contact me directly with an e-mail so we can work through any problems. After the quarter ends, it is then too late... sorry about that!

How long will the class ETUDES site be accessible?

I will leave the ETUDES classroom open until Sunday April 8 so that you can log-in, and click on "Assignments" to obtain your grade(s). If you click on the "Final Project" link, this will include your final course grade as well as any feedback on your project.

How Long will my CTIS Web Space be Available?

This is difficult to say exactly. The Spring Quarter starts on Monday April 9, so staff will be deleting your existing accounts and creating new accounts for Spring. This could be done anywhere from April 3 through April 10. If you have files on the server that you require, I would recommend that you download them to your local system NOW!

How long will the coin65 Site be Available?

That too is difficult to answer as Sandi will be teaching the face-to-face and on-line classes in the Spring. She may well change the username and password for next quarter, I do not know the answer to this.

If it was me, I would immediately delete everything beyond week 1 in preparation for a new quarter and then upload the materials for each week as required. So I am unsure whether you will be able to access the existing site beyond April 2, 2007... but I would not count on this.

Is there a downloadable version of all of the lectures?

A number of you have asked in the forum about this, and the answer is yes.

Sandi and I yesterday discussed the issue and we will make the entire site available in a single downloadable .zip file. So you will have the entire site available for future reference if that is what you want.

There are a couple of caveats/restrictions...

The reason for the delay in providing you with this download is that I am now in massive grading mode, and that is my priority at this point.

And Ken and Virginia are now working on a number of clean-up issues and "revisions" to the site based on our experiences this quarter as well as your welcomed feedback in the forum. We expect the site to be ready for download, as of April 5th.

How would I get the download?

You need to send me a personal e-mail message at greg__AT__mcilhiney.com requesting this and I will then reply with a link to where the material can be downloaded.

Thanks to you all!

I want to thank you all for your participation, your superior work, and for putting up (and understanding) with the offering of this new on-line course!

Many of you have taken one of my previous courses, but I do appreciate your patience and understanding of this course, and for this quarter!

And I very much appreciate your participation and feedback in the forums. The participation of the the group is what I think makes any on-line class stand out, and this is only accomplished through YOUR efforts... so thank you all!

Thanks to Ken and Virginia!

Sandi and I co-taught this course as a new course for the first time in the Fall Quarter 2006. For administrative reasons, I was assigned to teach this course on-line in the Winter Quarter, and this was assigned to me in early December... at the very last moment and with not much time to adapt the limited face-to-face materials which we had created.

My immediate thought was to enlist Ken and Virginia, two __VERY__ talented individuals. And this was the best decision I ever made!

Many of you have expressed your appreciation in the forum to the talents and contributions made by the two of them, and I second all of your accolades!

A number of you have been very complimentary as to the materials for the quarter, and I would say that you should be thanking Ken and Virginia for their amazing work-ethic, energy, and dedication... it is very much appreciated by ME!!
