After reading the text on the beginning of photography and seeing the first classroom session, mull for a while about what you would have thought if you were alive in 1839 and had just seen photography for the first time.

Who would you have been? Rich? Poor? Female or Male? Would you think it was an outrage? A miracle? An upstart invention ready to wreck your business or a new financial opportunity?

What land would you have lived in? Did they have photography yet? Who would you tell about your first exposure to this new, unique medium? Will you be a practitioner, a model or a patron of the arts? Use your imagination and think of life in 1839. Think of YOUR life in 1839.

Submit a minimum of 250 words about this concept. Use images if appropriate. Dream – Imagine – put yourself in the time of the discoverers of photography.
