Exercise #5 - Reflections at the Half-way

At this almost half-way point in our class, visit the forum and discuss the three (3) most important things you have learned so far.
How will these be useful in your future as a digital photographer?

3 lessons learned in PHOT 65a

1) Every time I save a JPEG image, the quality is compromised.

I finally understood this from Exercise 1.
I kept trying to downsize my contact sheet to be small enough to upload it, and it took about 4 tries.
Then I decided to go straight from the TIF format and save it (at 68dpi).
In comparison, the image saved once had more kb (hence more image info), though it was the same dpi, and it printed up so much better.

2) It's ok to try to improve one's image using digital manipulation!

3) Photoshop is not as intimidating as it once seemed.

How these lessons will help me

I'll think more carefully before I start manipulating an image, and I'll have more fun and creativity doing it!
