Assignment #4 - Personal Choice

Proposed Website Entry PageBottom Figures Superimposed onto Top Photo
Martha Raup's #4 assignment - Morocco (174K)

The photo on the lower right is a result of superimposing a section of another photo onto the top right photo. The hardest part was to get the sand colors to match. I ended up cloning it, because I forgot to bring over our footsteps, and needed to "borrow" some! Also, I had to erase the shadows created by Dianne, who's underneath the two of us in this new image. The image on the upper left is what I originally intended to do - create an entry page for our website about a trip we made to Morocco in 1998. What I found out is that I totally goofed. I scanned all my images in at 300 dpi, and saved most as tif. Then, I reworked many of them, reduced the size, and saved them as jpgs (to add to a map of Morocco). What I neglected to realize is that as I added new thumbnails to the map (on a newly-created canvas in psd format), I kept saving all the new changes to the file - and each time my jpgs lost some of their quality! The ending image shows very poorly in print. It's too much trouble to start over again now, but I just thought I'd share this little lesson with y'all! Again, thanks to my instructor and classmates for the memories! Martha
