Quizzes

Quizzes are an excellent way to reinforce the textbook material and also prompt you to read the textbook. You are required to take weekly quizzes. This is the only way to assure that you remain current with the reading which is imperative to successful completion of the work involved in this class. Digital Media Creation is truly a fun and rewarding experience, but only when you know what you're doing.

There are no make-up quizzes.

All quizzes, except Quiz 1, may only be taken once.

Quizzes will be taken using Insight and are to be submitted no later than 11:55p on the Sunday following the Monday that the quiz was opened to you and released.

You are encouraged to take the quizzes early.

Quizzes cannot be taken after the due date. Insight will not allow you to access the quiz after the deadline which is at 11:55p.

If you access a quiz in the last 15 minutes of the quiz closing for the week, Insight will not allow you the full time to complete the quiz. For example, if you begin a quiz at 11:45p on Sunday nights and it closes at 11:55 p, Insight will only give you 10-minutes to complete the quiz and then simply shut you out.

Refer to the the tasks for a particular week for the quiz due date associated with that week of content.

Quizzes will be multiple choice and true/false. Each quiz varies in the value of points depending on the material that was presented that week. Expect at least 3 questions per quiz and no more than 10. You will be given 30 minutes to take and submit a quiz.

Quizzes are located in each week that they are released and also by going to the homepage and under Activities on the left sidebar, clicking on the link titled Quizzes.

Before each quiz you will see instructions. Read the instructions carefully, Print out the instructions for taking a quiz and have these directions next to you when you take a quiz. Anticipate that you will have technical difficulties taking and/or submitting the quiz and plan to complete the quiz early.

When students experience challenges taking a quiz it is often with their browser or internet connection and has nothing to do with Insight or the CCSF server. BE SURE YOU USE THE FIREFOX BROWSER TO TAKE THE QUIZZES. It is the only one that works properly with the quizzes on Insight. It is difficult for me to sympathize and help students who repeatedly wait until Sunday night to take quizzes, so please be mindful of that.

After you submit the quiz you will be able to look at your response to a question, however the correct answer will not be displayed. The philosophy behind this is that you will go back to the book and figure out what is the correct answer. It is a method that forces you to be more involved in the quiz taking process and increase retention.
