Got video gear? Any Editing software?
As we move forward practically, it'll be good to know what access you will have to shooting some video as well as to editing it.
Please let me know, by reading the items below, checking out your equipment (or that of friends) and posting to the forum:
1. What kind of camera (that shoots video) you have access to (if any).
This could be:
a) a traditional video camera/camcorder
b) a fancy DSLR camera for both high-quality stills and video
c) a more common consumer "point-and-shoot" camera
d) a smartphone (iphone/android/windows)
e) a webcam connected or attached to a computer
f) Other: let me know
2. Let me know what access (if any) you have to video editing software on your computer. We only need basic editing capabilities so take a look on your computer to see if came pre-installed with an editing application.
Here are some examples (but there are many more):
a) Apple iMovie
b) Windows Movie Maker
c) Adobe Premiere Pro or Premiere Elements
d) Apple Final Cut Pro or Final Cut Express
e) Sony Vegas(PC)
f) Pinnacle Editing (PC)
g) Other….let me know
Video Apps

What's the cool looking video app in this week's image? Do you (anyone) have recommendations of video apps? I haven't downloaded any yet, but maybe I'll have to consider it! I so love my iPhone, but I haven't gotten into videos yet.I still haven't decided how to handle the ones I have. I loved the Flip Camera, and sorely miss its demise (though the videos still work). I have videos on my Panasonic Lumix , but haven't had a computer equipped to download off the SD chip yet (because my Vista couldn't handle HD format). SO, I'm looking forward to this last section on video!!

That's iMovie in the picture. You just need to decide on a camera. Then, you need to see what is compatible with. iMovie on a Mac is a great place to start. Movie maker on a PC is also good.

I got the iMovie app! It's fun - I created a video (putting together two clips) within minutes. This is my first "purchased" app - I couldn't resist it... |

You are going to have to make choices. Better to have too many than too few.

Choices - ah, the hard part! I will be using iMovie and GarageBand for editing, and the iPhone for my photos/video. I think! The project, as it unfolds, may dictate otherwise. As an aside - I was finally able to transfer my iTunes library from a defunct PC to the Mac. I have almost completed the transition to my "Dream System". Now I just have to learn all the tools, and find the bells and whistles!
