The free Web Developer Toolbar extension for Firefox contains a multitude of essential timesaving tools for web developers. It is especially useful for designing web content with CSS.
The toolbar works with Firefox and we will be using it throughout the course.
You must have Firefox installed on your computer before the Web Developer Toolbar extension can be downloaded and installed.
If you have not yet installed Firefox, please return to the
Firefox Installation
page before continuing.
Downloading the Web Developer Toolbar
1. Once you have Firefox installed, use it to launch the following website: Firefox Add-ons
.
2. Click the Web Developer Install now button.
3. The Software Installation dialog box appears containing the unsigned Web Developer download link. Click the Install Now button.
4. After the download is finished, you must quit and restart the Firefox browser. When the browser loads, you will see the Web Developer Toobar near the top of the browser window. You can turn the toolbar off and on in the Firefox View | Toolbars menu.
Specific features of the toolbar will be covered throughout the term in conjunction with classwork that makes use of its various features. For further information or troubleshooting, read the Web Developer Documentation at Chris Pederick's website
