Pre-Production
The project asks you to shoot, edit, and mix a short video that develops on the story, images and sounds that you created in your graphics project and enhances it with video. The project should be 90 – 120 seconds in length and is worth 75 points.
This part focuses on the creative and planning process.
• Next week’s assignment Part Two (Assignment Week 15) is to shoot the video footage for your project and assemble it together with your graphics and audio in whatever video editing software you have available to you. (examples: iMovie, Final Cut Express or Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro or Elements, or Windows Live Movie Maker)
• The last step, Part Three (Assignment Week 16 & 17) is to edit and mix the various elements down to a video file that will finally be compressed into an MP4 that you will upload to the server using the title: your first name and last name (as in VPR_APines.mp4)
You may add subtle effects and transitions if you wish, but they are not required.
Objectives:
Develop skill using the timeline-type of interface common to most video editing applications. Develop best practices in video editing file management. Use audio mixing techniques learned in previous projects. - This week’s assignment Part One (Assignment Week 14) is to a) create a storyboard that integrates your graphics images* and sounds, and adds video in an interesting way, b) includes either a two-column script (if you or someone else is using scripted material) or bullet points/interview questions if you (or others) are speaking ad hoc and finally, c) create a simple list of the video/still shots you'll need to gather all the material for your idea.
* Note: You can deviate from using your slides, but consider that using your past work with make things easier.

Final Project Requirements:
- 90-120 seconds long
- Your video should contain carefully edited images and sounds
- Images – Still images must have some text on them. You could reuse your slides.
- There must be at least 3 video clips in the project.
- Soundtrack – must be carefully mixed and use at least two tracks for part of the project.
You may add subtle effects and transitions if you wish, but they are not required.
