Martha's COIN 74 Week 6 Exercises
Day Two - Flash Buttons
To insert the preset Flash Objects into your page, click the cursor where you want to insert the object (either the flash text or flash button). Select either the Flash Button or Flash Text button icon from the Common Group of the Insert Bar. You can also insert these objects by going to the Insert Menu - Insert>Media>Flash Text or Flash Button...Flash Buttons are small flash movie animation and are available in DW in many styles. Some buttons have text which you can modify. Others are more like VCR control buttons for play, stop, forward, back, rewind, etc. Hold your cursor over the flash buttons below and see the animations in action. Now click the button to show the onClick state or the Down state. Remember buttons from our navigation bar assignment in Lesson 4? The buttons are also links... The Insert Flash Button Dialog Window is very similar to the Insert Flash Text window. There is an additional button between the Cancel and Help called 'Get More Styles...'. Clicking on this button will bring you to the Macromedia Exchange. There you will be able to browse for more Flash button styles. All buttons are 100x25 pixels. All buttons are optimized for using a size 14 font. These are flash buttons. I had NO idea it was so easy to make buttons with Dreamweaver!
I guess that's the advantage to using flash buttons - they're easy!
BUT - if you have to click twice in Internet Explorer to activatate them, are they reliable? This remains to be seen...
