Martha's COIN 74 Knowledge Quest

SNIPPETS

Snippets are little bits of code that you can create, save, and use repeatedly in web pages you make with Macromedia's Dreamweaver 8. They are like a template, in that they are prepared in advance for use in future web pages. But they are unlike templates, in that they are permanently fixed pieces of code. They are, in short, snippets of code that you may find you want to use over and over again. What might be a good example of a snippet?

Well, these are some of the questions I'll be looking for as I surf for information about

SNIPPETS

Won't you come along too?

PS - the information is copied from Dreamweaver's HELP files. Check them out!

Assignment Questions

* Give a brief narrative description of your Knowledge Quest :  I wanted to find out how to insert code for things I do all the time, like creating a background color for a paragraph or div.
*What's the rationale behind your choice?   My rationale? I hate doing the same thing over and over again. If there's an easier way to insert code, I want to learn it!
* Is this a tool or technique you think you will use in your web development? YES.
* How does it fit into Dreamweaver or web development, or both?   It automates the drudgery, and leaves the developer with more time for creativity and design.
* What did you find most challenging / interesting / frustrating about this experience?  It was amazing how easy this was, and what an "asset" it is - why didn't I know about it sooner?
