Day 2 and Day 3 - May 27-28, 2006

We spent two glorious days in London. The morning of Day 2 was spent in the arrival at Gatewick, and the transfer to our hotel. The afternoon was occupied by an independent trip to Westminster, and the evening featured a delightful dinner at a local English pub.

Day 3 was filled with a bus tour of London, and a memorable excursion to Windsor Castle (slideshow of 96 images).

London

An important settlement for two millennia, London is one of the world's leading business, financial and cultural centres and its influence in politics, education, entertainment, media, fashion and the arts all contribute to its status as a major global city.

London is the most populous city by administrative area in the European Union, with an official population of 7.5 million (as of mid-2006), and has a metropolitan population of between 12 and 14 million. Its diverse population draws from a wide range of peoples, cultures and religions, with over 300 different languages spoken. (Source: selected links and excerpt from Wikipedia's London)
