Our Tour: Globus' "Popular" Tour of Europe

After much deliberation, and hours of tour package perusal, we chose the Globus Tour "Popular". For us, it was the right decision. Joyce wasn't sure if she'd ever go to Europe again, and wanted to see EVERYTHING. We all had financial limitations; in fact, what with work obligations and family commitments, we had to delay our intended trip for two years! Finally, we liked the helpfulness of the Globus staff, and their brochures enticed us. So - off to Europe it was. With 32 others, a tour guide, a bus driver, and a bus driver's assistant, we happily embarked looking forward to all that was promised. Below, you'll see links to pages of material copied from the Globus website in 2006 describing the Popular tour, and an Itinerary Chart that summarizes the tour stops. Check it out; see for yourself if it doesn't sound exciting. We certainly thought so - and how right we were!

Accommodations Our accommodations were "first class". Here's a page with links to the hotels we stayed in, and in the future we'll add photos and commentary...

Features This page will describe the advertised features of the tour. To see photos of what we actually saw, check out the Global Links at the top of the page, or the daily, city,, and excursion links to the left..

Highlights Ah, the enticements!

This page shows what it was that attracted us...

Globus We should really tell you a little bit about Globus. They served our needs well! A Swiss company begun by an Italian. They originally specialized in regional tours, but by the 1980s had become an international powerhouse.

Itinerary Here we've listed the day-by-day itinerary for our tour. We've added the actual day and date to each description, and several links for what we thought we might see once we got there. To see what we ACTUALLY saw, use the links to the left or at the top of the page.

Itinerary Chart Here's another way to look at our itinerary. The chart lists the cities and coutries we visited, the excursions we took (or that were available), and presents it in a more graphic fashion.
